Denomination: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

Variety: 100% Sangiovese, from the winery selections

Soil: Rich in stone with presence of clay and sand.

Climate: Warm temperate, not too cold winters with hot and dry summers, spring andautumn rain.

Vintage notes: A warm year with a heat spike in August, producing forward wines with ample fruit. The best are lively and balanced; ripe and dense.

Harvest: Hand picked during the second week of October.

Vinification: Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature with racking and delestage, maceration 21-25 days.

Maturation: 3 years in Slavonian Oak Barrels and 4 months in bottle before release.

Organoleptic characteristics: A visibly clear wine with a bright red ruby colour, the taste of the wine has a harmoniously elegant, vigorous and savoury body which is dried with a long aromatic persistence. As a true vintage, this wine should be kept properly: horizontaly in a cool cellar, but above all with a constant temperature, in the dark.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2011 is a visibly clear wine with a bright red ruby colour that tends to red garnet. It has an intense, persistent, ample and ethereal fragrance. You can recognize aromas of aromatic wood, berries, light vanilla and jam. The taste of the wine has a harmoniously elegant, vigorous and savoury body, is dried with a long aromatic persistence. It must be kept properly: in a cool cellar, but above all with a constant temperature, in the dark, without noises and smells; bottles should be placed horizontally.

Brunello di Montalcino must be served in crystal glasses rounded to gather its harmonious bouquet. It should be served at a temperature of 18 ° C-20 ° C. The very old bottles should be decanted to better oxygenate and serve the wine in its total purity.
